Kentucky Pastor Destroyed Cell Phone After Asking 11-Year-Old Girl For Pictures of Her Body

On June 25, 2025, Clarence Barry Hungerford – a 58-year-old Kentucky Baptist pastor of Aurora Baptist Church in Marshall County – was arrested after allegedly soliciting explicit photos from an 11-year-old girl who attended his church.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began when the girl’s family bravely came forward, reporting that Hungerford had used electronic communication to request images of her body.

During the investigation, Hungerford reportedly admitted to the crime and confessed to destroying his cellphone in an attempt to eliminate potential evidence, a move investigators described as tampering with physical evidence.

Law enforcement later charged him with two felonies:

• Tampering with physical evidence, and

• Unlawful use of electronic means within the commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities (WSIL).

Hungerford, who maintains a part-time residence in Marshall County, allegedly initiated the inappropriate contact from that location.

Multiple sources confirm that he served as a pastor at Aurora Baptist Church, a congregation affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

As of this writing, there has been no official public response from the church, the convention, or associated leadership bodies regarding the arrest or the steps being taken to support the victim and her family.
